Tips for Keeping Your Smile Healthy When Going to the MoviesGoing to the movies is a fun experience whether you're with your family or with a date. While you may be focused on what movie you're going to see, it's also important to focus on how the movies can damage your teeth.

It may seem strange, but some of the foods and drinks served at a movie theatre are bad for your teeth. Skipping the concession line can not only save your wallet but also your teeth!

Many people enjoy watching a movie while chowing down on some buttery popcorn, but popcorn can damage your teeth. Although a nice bucket of popcorn is delicious, popcorn kernels can crack your teeth. Our teeth are made of hard substances, however, some foods like popcorn kernels can still make them break. If you choose to eat popcorn while watching a movie, try to avoid eating the un-popped kernels at the bottom of your bucket.

Drink Water

If you're having popcorn, you'll need something to wash it down. Many people go for a refreshing soda, but soda is one of the worst drinks for your teeth. Soda is acidic so it wears at your teeth's surfaces quicker than other drinks. Plus, soda is full of sugar. Tons of sugar isn't only bad for your health, but also, it's bad for your teeth. Sugar causes more bacteria to grow in your mouth, which can cause cavities and enamel damage.

Of course, it's okay to indulge in popcorn or soda sometimes, but if you eat or drink them all the time, it could have negative effects on your teeth.
